NHS Swimmers and Parents.....unfortunately, I now have a personal obligation on Saturday, Dec. 29th, such that I have to move the planned Swim-a-Mile swimathon to Friday, Dec. 28th.  Once I have the time on the 28th I will let you know.

I apologize for this late change.

Sincerely,

Swimmers and Parents......after looking at a number of dates to try to re-schedule the Palmyra meet from yesterday, unfortunately we weren't able to find one that worked for both schools.  So we won't be swimming Palmyra in a dual meet this year.  That leaves us with 12 dual meets.

Coach Resser

Swimmers.....this is a reminder of a policy that's contained in the Team Handbook.  If you arrive at school any time after 9:00 AM (that includes 9:01 AM) without a note from a healthcare professional (doctor, dentist, etc.) or college, you will be considered "Absent" and can NOT participate in swimming on that day.  A note from your parents does not suffice.  Extenuating circumstances will be given consideration.  Your absence from swimming may be considered unexcused. If any part of this policy is not clear, please contact me.

Thanks for making sure your eligibility to participate in swimming is maximized.

Dear Swimmers and Parents,
Based on the input I've received, I'd like to announce the 2007 Northern High School Swimming Team's "Swim-a-Mile, Bring-a-Smile" swimathon on Saturday, Dec 29th, will benefit the 2008 American Cancer Society's "Relay for Life" held in Dillsburg.
Athletes, please take pride in knowing you'll be swimming to help in our collective fight against cancer.

Sincerely,

Coach Resser
P.S.  Please use the attached Pledge Sheet to track your pledges.

Hello....after consulting with the team Captains, we will again this year be having a Holiday Lunch and Secret Santa gift exchange for the team on Friday, Dec. 21st, after swimming practice, which goes from 11:15-1:45.  The captains are working out the details and will be in touch, but we will most likely go (car pool) to a local restaurant where we'll eat and exchange our gifts.

I wanted to give you a heads up for scheduling purposes.   If you have any questions, please see one of the captains.

Regards,

Coach Resser

As you know, on Saturday, December 29th, we will be conducting our annual "Swim-a-Mile, Bring-a-Smile" fund-raiser.  Swimmers will be obtaining pledges from friends, relatives, neighbors, etc. that will be paid if/when they complete a 1650 yard,  "one-mile" continuous swim.  The money raised will be divided between a local nonprofit social service organization/fund and the Swimming Booster Club.

Swimmers and Parents.....I need your input, via email, by Wednesday, Dec. 12th, on a local (preferably Dillsburg-based) human social service organization or fund that you feel we should support financially.  In the past, we have made contributions to New Hope Ministries, the Four Diamonds Fund and the family of Sam Mizrahi for their use in Sam's memory.  The swimmers and coaches will select one organization from the list I receive.

This time of year, in particular, it's important that we realize and appreciate how very blessed we are.  The swim-a-thon is one way for us to give our support to those in our community that are less fortunate and, hopefully, give them a reason to smile.

Thank you, very much.
